The Federal Executive Council has approved a whooping €64.7m and equivalent of N26,355,555,520.8 Nigerian Naira from the French Development Agency for a water project in Kano State.
The approval was made at the Federal Executive Council Meeting which held on Wednesday 13, February 2019, Leadership reports.

Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, narrated that the project was necessary to enhance the living conditions of about 1.5 million people in Kano Metropolis.
“the project is to rehabilitate and build the infrastructure needed to maximize availability of water services to populations in greater Kano and to help improve key sector reforms for the sustainability of the project.” – She stated.

Mrs. Ahmed further disclosed that the project will be carried out by the Kano State ministry of water resources through a state project management committee.
