Rt Hon Umaru Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the Adamawa State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Fintiri got a total of 376,552 votes to defeat incumbent Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 336,386 votes.
As you may know, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted supplementary elections in the state yesterday, March 28, 2019, outside the general March 9 elections.
The All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state had earlier raised alarm over the rescheduled date for the election stating that it senses anomaly since the fixed date, i.e Thursday 28, March clashes with civil servants.
However, the party later accepted the date. Senator Abdulaziz Nyako of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 113,237 votes before Chief Emmanuel Bello of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who polled only 29,792 votes.
