Following the announcement by INEC that President Muhammadu Buhari is the winner of the presidential election on Wednesday 27, February 2019, Buhari’s counterparts across the African continent have been pouring out congratulatory messages to his re-election.
The first President to call and congratulate Buhari is President Mahamadou Issoufou of Neighboring Niger, the President called Buhari just few hours after INEC’s announcement, opting that he looks forward to strengthen international relations with between his country and Nigeria.
Also, President Buhari has received congratulatory messages from Presidents Nana Koffi-Addo of Ghana and Macky Sall of Senegal.

President of Guinea, Professor Alpha Omar Conde also felicitated with Buhari. He said that Buhari’s re-elecition comes as a dose of hope for West African at large.

Also, the victory of President Buhari has hit the waves in far North African country, Morroco. In a tweet by the President’s aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, President Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco described Buhari’s victory as an affirmation of the level of trust Nigerians have in him .
Mohammed VI also promised to work with Buhari in other to advance the interests of both countries.
