The United Kingdom has said it has deployed international observers to witness this year’s elections across the country.
This was made known by the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing.
Laing said that 60+ observers have been deployed by the UK government across 15 states of the federation to observe the presidential and national assembly election tomorrow, Saturday 23, 2019.

Speaking on a video record, Laing appealed that to Nigerians to go to their various polling booths and preserve Democracy.
The British civil servant and diplomat said that despite the circumstance of the election postponement by a week, Nigerians should not be deterred to express their franchise.

She also called on Nigerians to ensure that the election process is more consolidated than it was back in 2015.
Laing charged INEC to remain independent and impartial during the voting process.
In her words:
“As a long-time friend and partner in Nigeria, we will be playing our part, we will have 60+ observers in 15 states around the country observing the election.
“And, of course, it is very important that INEC remains as the impartial umpire for this election.
