Court Set To Hear Criminal Complaint Against Buhari’s aides; Garba Shehu, Bashir Ahmad, Boss Mustapha among others.

Barr. Tope Akinyode, a human rights lawyer and head of the Africa Action Congress (AAC) legal team in Lagos state, on 27th April, 2020, filed a criminal proceedings against Garba Shehu (Presidential Spokesperson), Bashir Ahmed (Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari), Boss Mustapha (Secretary Governme nt of the Federation), Yusuf Sabiu, (Special Assistant to the President Muhammadu Buhari, Babagana Monguno (National Security Adviser, NSA), Ambassador Lawal Kazaure (Chief Protocol Officer to the President Muhammadu Buhari).

Others are, Musa Haro Daura, a nephew to the President, Mr. Ahmad Rufai (Director-General of National Intelligence Agency), Senator Hadi Sirika (Minister of Aviation), and lastly, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama (the Minister of Foreign Affairs). The above names are personnel’s working directly under the presidency erred on the side of the law by flagrantly violating the restriction of movement and social distancing order of government on 18th April, 2020 at the burial of President Muhammadu Buhari’s late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. The Nigerian government which hitherto had prosecuted many offenders of law failed to prosecute the erring public servants, making me commence the criminal proceedings by way of direct criminal complaint.

He however took to his Twitter handle as he announced to the general public that the Court has finally fixed 30th June 2020 for hearing of the case. He is however hopeful that justice will be served with regards to this very case even as he advised Nigerians to remain law abiding not minding the failed Government system we are facing at the moment.
