Why I Criticized Buhari – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that the reason he was vocal against President Muhammadu Buhari in the build up to the 2019 presidential election is not hatred.

Obasanjo made this known while delivering a speech in a event to mark his 82nd Birthday Ceremony at the Olusegun Obansanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta Ogun State.

He boasted that President Muhammadu Buhari is under him and that he is Buhari’s Boss.

“Buhari; there is nothing personal between me and him. I am his boss, with all due respect

“The point is that I have been in that position longer than any Nigerian will ever be there.

Obasanjo further said that it was only a practice of democracy to criticize any policy of government, stating that that even if it his own brother that is there and is not doing the things that he believes he should do, he must be criticised.

You may acknowledge that Obasanjo had sided the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the build up to the presidential election which saw Atiku come second position after President Muhammadu Buhari.
