We are really talking to Peter Obi. The former governor of Kano state has confirmed that him and the labour party’s presidential candidate have been talking about the merge.

Recently, rumours have been going round about the merge between Rabi’u Kwankwaso and Peter Obi. Kwankwaso who is the former governor of Kano state, made this revelation known during an interview on Saturday, June 18 2022.

Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, FNSE, FNIQS (born 21 October 1956) is a Nigerian politician who was the Governor of Kano state from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015. After he lost his re-election in 2003, he was appointed the first Minister of Defence of the Fourth Republic with no prior military background from 2003 to 2007, under the administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo. He was later elected to the Senate in 2015, serving one term under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Kano Central Senatorial District. Read more about  Kwankwaso here

In Kwakwanso’s words

We are really talking to Peter Obi, or atleast saying that the committee is working to look into the matter. Also, friends and family are coming to talk about it.

Unfortunately, the NNPP has dismissed reports that the presidential candidate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has agreed to be Peter Obi’s running mate.

Major, who denied the viral claim, said it is false and rather embarrassing to the former Kano governor and misleading the party’s supporters.

The new Nigeria people’s party has reacted to viral claims that it’s presidential candidate recently signed a pact to be the running mate of peter obi.

Referring to the news as false and misleading, NNPP’s publicity secretary, Agbo major made it clear that they never at any point issued such as an announcement and therefore cautioned the media houses to check their reports before publishing them.
