       British-Ghanian actress, Ama Konadu condemns counselor’ George Lutterodt’s comment over rape cases on Adom TV.

    Ama Konadu Abebrese is a British-Ghanaian actress, television presenter and a producer, born in Ghana and raised in West London, United Kingdom. She won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2011 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), for her stellar performance in Sinking Sands.

Counselor’ George Lutterodt on TV responding to the issue of rape, said “Every Rape Victim Enjoys the Act.” He goes on to say that “Rape victims enjoy being raped regardless of their unwillingness in the beginning.”

Konadu while reacting to his comment via her Twitter handle spoke bitterly on how a self professed counselor would step so low to vomit trash from his mouth.

Konadu in her tweets said;

Something that any real professional counselor and expert will discredit. This is highly irresponsible and a very dangerous rhetoric that fuels sexual violence and rape culture. He claims he has spoken to ‘many rape victims’ and his assertions are based on that. Despicable.

This man Lutterot is a rape apologist simple. One of the worse I have seen because he masquerades with the title of ‘counselor’ to essentially justify and normalize rape culture with a reprehensible statement that “all victims of rape enjoy the act”

This perpetuates victim blaming and trivializes what rape survivors go through. His comments are deplorable, especially at a time in Ghana, and beyond when so many people are advocating for victims of rape and sexual assault in their fight for justice.

The worst thing is that he is not even a certified counselor yet these media organization in Ghana continue to give him a platform.

This has to stop.

However, the embattled counselor is yet to respond to her Tweet.
