Election News: Voting Officially Closes Today

Voting For the Presidential and National Assembly elections conducted today Saturday 23, February 2019 has ended.

According a statement earlier made by INEC’s national chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, yesterday, he said voting across all polling units will commence by 8:00 am an end by 4:00 pm today.

However,  national commissioner  of information and voter education committee, INEC, Barrister Festus Okoye said the time of voting will be extended in some polling units.

Okoye said the time will be extended by the hours lost in such centers. For example if the election began by 9:00 am in a particular polling unit, then Voting will close by 5:00 pm in such a unit.
