Closest runner up to President Muhammadu Buhari and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubabakar has set up his legal team to combat the outcome of the presidential election which held on February 23, 2019.
This was disclosed by the former vice presidents media adviser, Paul Ibe, on Saturday. Mr. Ibe in a statement.
The statement revealed that the team of legal practitioners will be headed by Dr Livy Uzoukwu (SAN).
Atiku said that he set up the legal team and charged them with the ultimate responsibility of reclaiming his alleged stolen victory, by President Muhammadu Buhari and INEC.

“I have just inaugurated my legal team and charged them with the responsibility of ensuring that our stolen mandate is retrieved”, Atiku was quoted as sauing.
“I am encouraged by the presence of fearless men and women of the Bench. – the statement read.
Atiku said that with his legal team working on the matter, sooner or later, Nigeria will experience a historic denunciation of electoral fraud and mandate bandit.
He however expressed joy by the presence of fearless men and women of the Bench.

Atiku reiterated that his reason of not conceading defeat in the election stems from lack of transparency in the electoral process, pointing out that Buhari’s Government used the military to perfect their alleged plans of intimidation and suppression of members of the PDP in the strongholds of the party, connivance between INEC Officials, security officials and the Buhari led Federal Government to manufacture bogus figures and falsify returns from the polling units.
