Atiku Launches Virtual Reality Platform To Meet With Nigerians

Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 16 election has launched a Virtual Reality Platform To engage Nigerians.

The Presidential Candidate said that he decided to use the Interactive Video technology to engage virtually with all Nigerians considering that they have some questions for him.

Atiku claimed he had created platforms like this a couple of times. The platform known as Ask Atiku Yourself, can be run on Android, Ipad and Computer Devices.

Once users open the link, they are provided with the text, “This is your chance to ask Atiku a question. Select a question from the list on  the notepad in the video” and a Video Play Icon.

When the Icon is clicked, a video begins to play automatically. Atiku pops up making this statement:

“Fellow Nigerians, I have chosen this mode of interactive video technology to engage with you virtually, I have done that a couple of times. I understand you have some questions for me.

However I have selected the most frequently asked questions from my social media following, I ask that you choose the most important questions to you.”

After which, users are provided with an interactive platform consisting mainly of prime questions covering various sectors concerning Atiku’s lifestyle, intentions and thoughts.

When the users click any question, the PDP presidential candidate answers the question in real time, now isn’t that great ?

Some of the questions provided include:

  • What is your favourite football club ?
  • What is your favourite food ?
  • Who is your favourite musician ?
  • How can Nigeria divert from oil as the main source of GPD
  • How will you ensure a significant reduction in yout unemployment withing Nigeria
  • Would you agree there has been a lack of adequate investment in infrastructure within Nigeria. What do you plan to do about it ?
  • Have you prepared a plan of action of what you would do if you were elected ?
  • Lack of Jobs is the major concern for all Nigerian Youth. What will you do to provide jobs ?
  • What will you do to give our youths more Opportunity ?

Atiku Abubakar GCON, aged 72 as of February, 2019  served as the 11th vice-president of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 under Obasanjo.

On Friday, 24 November 2017, Abubakar announced his exit from the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the Peoples Democratic party.

Abubakar declared his candidacy for the presidential nomination of the PDP mid 2018 and won the nomination at its convention on October 7.

He defeated 11 other contestants and got 1,532 votes, 839 more than the runner-up, the Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal.

The PDP Presidential candidate in recent times has shown himself to be technology friendly, most of his views and intentions have been made available to Nigerians on mostly his social media handles.

On November 18, 2018 Atiku released his Policy Document on his official twitter account.

He said has plans to lift 50 million Nigerians out of poverty, by 2025.

Furthermore, he stated that he has plans to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and also sell all four national refineries.
