INEC Is Working For PDP, Here is Why – Oshiomhole

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is working with opposition People’s Democratic Party ahead of elections.

Oshiomhole made the claims on Wednesday 13, February 2019 while addressing newsmen. He said that the electoral body heeds to court judgement against his party even when other courts of competent jurisdiction give counter orders in favour of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

You may acknowledge that the All Progressive Congress in Zamfara and Rivers state have been barred from fielding candidates in the build up to Saturday elections.

Oshiomhole further claimed that “two resident electoral officers (RECS) in the south south region and campaigning” side by side with the People’s Democratic Party.

He hinted that although, his party, the All Progressives Congress is the ruling party, it has no intentions of causing any altercation in the operations of the electoral umpire, since that may lead to anarchy or result in ‘no elections’.

Oshiomhole said that INEC believes what ever it is been told by the People’s Democratic party and sides it in matters that also affects the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Explaining what transpired in Zamfara, the party chairman said that the Zamfara high court had ruled that the APC candidates in the state are eligible, recognizing the primaries which were conducted in the state but that the Abuja High Court never gave counter orders hence INEC has no right to bar its candidate from been fielded in elections in the state.

He revealed that, that was the Judgement of the Court of Appeal which ruled on the matter yesterday.
If Oshiomhole’s explanation is something to go by, then APC Zamfara candidates may be fielded in elections in the state.
