The announcement was made by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, on Monday while briefing State House correspondents after a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.

“This is consistent with the President’s desire to cushion the effect of transportation costs, especially for the most vulnerable Nigerians,” Idris stated. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the administration’s goal of supporting citizens during critical festive periods.
