Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, has been declared winner of the gubernatorial election which took place on Saturday March 9, 2019.
As you may know, the APC candidate was clearly not supported by the incumbent governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun, who is an APC governor.
Notwithstanding, Mr Abiodun deafeated Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement, who was virtually supported by governor Ibikunle.

Announcing the result on Monday, INEC’s Returning Officer for the South-Western state, Professor Idwo Olayinka, stated that Mr. Abiodun is the winner and thereby returned with a total of 241,670 votes as against Mr Adekunle ’s 222,153 votes.

Candidate of the ADC, Gboyega Isiaka, came third with 110,422 votes, while Senator Buruji Kashamu of the Peoples Democratic Party was polled only 70,290 votes.
