AFCON CHAMPIONS: SENEGAL WIN THEIR FIRST EVER AFCON TITLE.

The AFCON final took place on the 6th of February 2022, featuring Senegal vs Egypt.
The Teranga Lions started the match in a fine way and was given a penalty in the 6th minute. The penalty was taken by Liverpool striker Sadio Mane but was saved by the Egypt goalkeeper.

The match continued 0-0 with both Senegal and Egypt having several chances at goal.

At the end of the full time it was still 0-0. The match was taken to extra time .

It was still a goalless draw after extra time. The match was then decided by a penalty shootout with both keepers making a save but a miss from the Egyptians, handed Senegal their first ever AFCON title with 15 appearances in the competition.
