Mr. Lawal Adétáyò Bishop, a Civil Engineering undergraduate at the University of Benin is selflessly offering to tutor candidates for WASSCE 2020. The young and patriotic Nigerian took to his Twitter handle to announce this on Monday.
Lawal in a tweet said due to short notice of the WASSCE 2020, I’m offering free tutorial classes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Further Mathematics for Candidates within Ijebu-Ode.
Mathematics finale holds on Saturday, 15th of August, 2020, 10am – 2pm.
He however further revealed that he has just been informed by the principal of one of the public Schools that Saturday won’t be appropriate because of the STATE LOCKDOWN, hence, will be at Anglican Comprehensive High School, Ikoto for Mathematics finale on Thursday 2pm to 4pm and Friday 12pm to 2pm.
Inline with the Covid19 lay down rules by the Lagos State Government, he decided to chose two days because of the state regulations as so not to disobey Government orders in the quest for doing good to his people.
Lawal explained how he talked to a Secondary School teacher about the initiative, which the teacher said “That’s good but hope you can assist them during exams?”, immediately I said No, the idea didn’t look good again. It is finished.
This alone shows you don’t need millions to be of help, you can only do better with millions. He further advised for people to find Public Secondary Schools around you, volunteer to teach their students ahead of WASSCE and Junior Waec, just solve past questions for these students.
This has however generated hundreds of accolades from Nigerians as some has described his selfless service as an example for our top leaders to emulate.
