Big Brother Naija: Everything You Need to Know



The Big Brother Naija is a Nigerian reality television series in which 12 contestants compete for a cash prize of $100,000 (that is 36,100,000 million naira as of 2019) by living together in an excluded apartment, where they individually avoid being evicted by viewers.

Initially known as Big Brother Nigeria, the reality tv show premiered back in 2006 between March 5 to June 4, on DStv Channel 37.

Probably because the Nigerian setting was not ripe for the show, after its first season it was pended.

After 11 years of been left pending, on January 22, 2017 Big Brother Naija was organized for a second time and this time, it was a hit.

Efe, a contestant secured 57.61 per cent of votes to emerge winner of the 2017 Big Brother Naija.

Subsequently , a third season debut on January 28, 2018 seeing Miracle Igbokwe Ikechukwu, the overall winner of the Big Brother Naija 2018 go home with 25 million naira and 12 million naira SUV.

This Year,  the Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria Mr. John Ugbe announced that the 2019 edition of the reality TV show is based on choice by those who are really interested in it, that basically means if the people want it to be held it would and if they don’t, it won’t.

Luckily, the people voted for the show to hold, and guess what in Nigeria’s foremost city; the center of excellence,😶😋 Lagos.
