Mallam Gimba Yau Kumo and two others ‘Declared wanted’ by ICPC:

Mallam Gimba Yau Kumo, the son in law to the president of the Federal republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Ogunsola,  and one Tarry Rufus has been declared wanted for alleged ‘misappropriation’ of the National housing funds (NHF) by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission [ICPC].

Mallam Gimba Yau Kumo, who is married to the president’s second daughter Fatima Buhari and the other two persons were allegedly accused of spending sixty five million dollars.

ICPC is an organization that deals deal with alleged corruption involving Nigerian civil servants. According to notice that was published on their website, ICPC said one Tarry Rufus, Gimba Yau Kumo and Bola Ogunsola, is declared “wanted”, in  connection with the issue that is related to misappropriation of National Housing Funds”, the anti-corruption agency added.

The National Housing Fund (NHF) is the federal government scheme to allow Nigerians workers, mostly those in the civil service, to become house owner using their small salary.

It is compulsory for every Nigerian civil servant to contribute 2.5% of their monthly salary inside the fund, as long as the person is earning more than N300,000 per annum.

Gimba is the former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, a Federal government institution that monitors the National Housing Fund (NHF).
