The presidential Task Force on covid-19, has announced the approval of the third second-phase ease of lock-down extension Nationwide, by the president, President Muhammadu Buhari.
This was announced by the secretary to the government of the Federation (SGF) and the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha during the Thursday task force briefing, in Abuja. They also informed the aviation industry that the president has given a green-light for international flight resumption, hence international airline operators and airport authorities should start making plans to reopen the international wing.
According to the PTF on Covid-19, National coordinator on international travels, Sani Aliyu; we have asked the aviation industry to commence the process of resuming flights on the international wings of our airports, provided they adhere strictly to all existing rules both local and international prevention guidelines on Covid-19 in the airport. We have also made some modifications on the advice with regards to passengers’ arrival for flights. Passengers are adviced to arrive at least one and half hours before take-off for domestic flights and three hours before take-off for international flights when they resume.
The interstate travels for people and goods still continues but must be outside the curfew hours. The National coordinator also added that people must comply strictly to this guidelines.
These decisions were taking after the PTF members had a meeting with the President in the Presidential Villa on the Wednesday August 5, 2020. Where they briefed the president on their plans to curb the spread of Covid-19 virus and the way forward for the country.
So far the country has recorded over 44,000 confirmed cases of Corona Virus in the country, more than 31,000 has recovered from the virus whereas about 910 deaths has been recorded.
