Wike Community Leader Condemns Ikenga Ugochinyere’s Attacks on Chief Barr. E.N Wike. The Wike community leader, Elder Hopeson Mezieuzor, has condemned Ikenga Ugochinyere’s persistent attacks on Chief Barr. E.N Wike, advising him to focus on his constituency’s issues in Imo State instead.
The national leadership of the Wike community, under the guidance of Elder Hopeson Mezieuzor, has strongly condemned Ikenga Ugochinyere for his persistent attacks on Chief Barr. E.N Wike, CON, GSSRS. This reprimand was issued during a courtesy visit by Elder Mezieuzor to the leadership of the Wike community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State. The elder noted that Ikenga Ugochinyere was overstepping his bounds, lacking the political clout to address Chief Barr. E.N Wike on matters concerning Rivers State.
Elder Hopeson Mezieuzor advised Ikenga Ugochinyere to redirect his focus towards the issues plaguing the Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is currently in crisis. According to him, members and leaders of the party in Imo State have defected to other parties due to the leadership style of individuals like Ugochinyere. He suggested that Ugochinyere should concentrate on winning his ward and the chairmanship position in his Ideato North Local Government Area for the PDP in the upcoming Imo State LGA elections. It is widely known that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has consecutively won all elections in Ideato North LGA while Ugochinyere continues to make rounds on various media platforms, creating what Elder Mezieuzor described as “nuisance” as a “media boy” for the governor of Rivers State.

The Wike community leader further emphasized that Ikenga Ugochinyere appears ignorant of the historical context and struggles that Chief Barr. E.N Wike has faced to reposition the party in Nigeria. He underscored that the political structure established by Wike is unshakeable, stating, “We are the structure.” He called on Ugochinyere to cease his attempts to create disorder in Rivers State and instead dedicate his efforts to his constituency, which he rarely visits due to insecurity issues.
Elder Mezieuzor also warned Ugochinyere against his constant criticisms of the Rivers State Police Commissioner and his questioning of how the Nigeria Police Force conducts its operations and intelligence. He urged Ugochinyere to focus on the security collapse in his own state rather than attacking the Nigeria Police Force and the Rivers State police commissioner, who has demonstrated commendable professionalism in managing the state’s security. Mezieuzor applauded Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu and the Rivers State police for the peace the state currently enjoys, encouraging continued support for the police to perform their duties effectively
