Why we endorsed N.O. Iweala as WTO Chairperson – Emeka Ihedioha, Attiku, others!!!

Prominent Nigerians have come out in their numbers to openly endorse the nomination of Dr. Mrs Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, as the chairperson  of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Following her nomination as the chairperson of the World Trade Organization (WTO) few weeks ago, some well meaning Nigerians have expressed their confidence in her ability to revive the trade industry using the wealth of experiences, gathered over the years of her services to both her country and the World.

Dr Iweala have served twice as the Minister of Finance, Federal Republic of Nigeria, was a former World Bank Managing Director Operations, and currently serving as the Board chair of Gavi and AR Capacity.

Dr Iweala got endorsements from prominent Nigerians few days after releasing her campaign message which was accompanied with an inspiring video, on her twitter handle;

In her tweet, she said “Trade is a force for good and properly harnessed can lift millions out of poverty and bring shared prosperity, the role of the @wto is more vital than ever. Lets fight for a WTO that works for all”.

Some of these notable Nigerians includes the 2019 presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the former Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. Both replied to her campaign message tweet, using their official twitter handles;

Ahlhaji Atiku replied saying “I, Atiku Abubakar endorse this message. Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala’s experience and enormous related works she has done, confirms without equivocation that her leadership shall be a blessing to @wto and the World. -AA.

Hon. Ihedioha, also replied the tweet saying;  My name is Emeka Nkem Ihedioha, I endorse Dr @NOIweala for World Trade Organization (@wto) Director General.
I whole heartedly support her campaign to bring fresh ideas onboard to energize the system.
#ImoBuNkeAnyi.

 

She has however responded to both endorsements using the same medium.

We support and endorse her also, because we have seen that she has all it takes to take @wto to another level.
