The Bayelsa State government has approved a 100% upward review of the monthly allowance for corps members posted to the state with effect from April.
This was made known by the state governor, Seriake Dickson, while welcoming the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major General Suleiman Kazaure, to Yenagoa, the state capital.
Dickson encouraged the NYSC boss to appreciate the efforts of the state government in bringing to book those who manhandled corps members during the 2019 elections.
Media aide to the Governor, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, in a statement quoted Dickson as describing corps members as “critical national assets that need the support and protection of every right thinking individual to enable them carry out their assignments effectively.”
