St Etienne Vs PSG: Mbappe Outshines with 1 goal

Mbappe keeps making strides even after the world cup, he’d help his PSG side moved to 12 points ahead the table after hitting the net on Sunday in the tough head – on against the St Etienne side.

Mbappe found the net in the 73rd minute of the game after he waded  Daniel Alves and thrashed Ruffier from close range to score his 19th goal in 18 appearances in Ligue 1 alone this season.

And with that goal, Mbappe becomes the first French player in 45 years to reach that tally after 18 appearances in a season in the French top flight.

You may recall that just five days earlier, Paris St Germain  had defeated Manchester United with a 2:0 score line in their Champions League last-16 first leg, PSG had more possession in the first half of the game against St Etiene but ended up with only one shot On target against opponent’s two, although they had more possession in the game.

Neymar and Cavani where not in the field because they had incurred injuries, even  Verratti was benched by Thomas Tuchel’s, but that didn’t stop PSG from accruing 62 points from 23 matches.

The Paris SG are now followed directly by the Lille side who have played two more games but were held goalless at home by Montpellier earlier on that Sunday.

As for St Etienne, they are placed in the fifth position with 40 points.
