RIVERS: INEC will send party agents out of collation center if they do this

The independent national electoral commission, INEC, has stated that it will send party agents out of the collation centers in Rivers State if they disrupt the collation process.

National commissioner, voter education, Festus Okoye stated this during a Channels TV  breakfast show, Sunrise Daily.

Mr. Okoye said that the electoral umpire is determined to finalise the collation process in the south-south state, but that if any party agent attempts to  to disrupt the process, that person will be taken out of the collation centre.

In his words:

“If any individual or agent of any political party wants to disrupt the process, that person will be taken out of the collation centre”.

He further stated that INEC  officials involved in the result collations are not inexperienced and have the mandate of the commission to ensure that the processes are finalized.

Mr. Okoye also disclosed that both native and foreign observers are present at the ongoing collation centre including the media.

The INEC national commissioner, said that party agents who notice any abnormality or seek clarity during the collation process would be allowed to voice their complaints but not in a disruptive way.
