RIVERS 2019: PDP Reveals APC’s Next Plan Concerning Results

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has stated has raised allegations that the All Progressive Congress, APC, plans to use the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami SAN, to obstruct the collation of results in the state.

Spokesman of the main opposition party, Kola Ologbondiyan , made this known in a statement on Sunday 31, March, 2019.

Ologbondiyan also called on Transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, to restrain from influencing the election by compeelling the AAttorney General of the Federation (AGF) to function based on  a script he intends writing to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, seeking that he suspends the ongoing collation process in the state.

In his words:

“Our party urges the AGF to note that there is no provision of the 1999 Constitution (as Amended) or any part of the Electoral Act 2010 (as Amended) that, in anyway, empowers the AGF to interfere or stop the process of election, until declaration of result is made.

Ologbondiyan also said that transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi, is desperate to see to it the the AAC’s governorship candidate in the state emerge winner and hence would want to use the Attorney general of the federation to break the constitutional order of elections and hence pose threat to democracy of the country.

“It is imperative for the AGF to note that Rotimi Amaechi, in his desperation, will want to rope him in and use him to cause a constitutional crisis that has the capacity to derail our democracy.” He said.
