NIGERIAN IMMIGRATION SERVICE SPOKESWOMAN ABDUCTED IN BENIN BY GUNMEN

According to reports, Nigerian ‘s Immigration Service spokeswoman, Mrs. Bridget Esene was abducted by gunmen on her way to Church at Ikhueniro area of Benin City on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

It was reported that the incident scared commuters and passers-by who fled to safety.

“Passersby who were traumatized by spiral gunshots of the Bandits took to their heels, with some fleeing into nearby bush adding that the incident did not last for more than 5 minutes,”- eyewitness (Daily Independent reports).

Daily Independent reported that a source from the family said she was confronted at Ikhuen, Ikpoba Okha local Government Area and taken by force from her vehicle on her way to Church early Sunday.

Members of the Church where she worships at Ikhuen were said to have engaged in a session of prayers, calling on God to save her from the hands of her abductors.

Some of the members said it was a tragic experience wondering why she was abducted as she is only a civil servant. It would seem that the victim may have been trailed from her residence inside Benin Metropolis or Ikhuen where she worships every Sunday.

It is likely that the Police Command in Benin are making plans towards a search or rescue operation based on the report from Daily Independent.
