We gathered that Dr Okonjo-Iweala had earlier complained that some top citizen of Nigerian were working towards frustrating her nomination to head the World Trade Organization (WTO) but did not mention name.
Also during her speech on riviving the WTO, she stated that “The World Trade Organization has an irreplaceable role to play in transforming countries’ economic prospects and the lives of people around the world.
She equally narrated why she is running for the position, through her social media platform;
” I believe in the power of trade to change lives. Today I shared my vision for a reformed the World Trade Organization (WTO) with its members from around the world”
