Imo state government approves two weeks for burial ceremonies

Imo State Government, approves 2weeks from 16th May 2020 for burials.

The government of Imo State led by distinguished senator Hope Uzodinma, during it press briefing stated that the state council has approved 2weeks starting from the 16th of May 2020 for residence to bury their loved ones.

He however stated clearly that this can only be done after the bereaved families have fulfilled the following conditions:

Firstly they must seek approval from the local government in writing and get approval in writing too.
Attendees to such burial MUST not be more than 20 people this includes the officiating priest.

The families will MUST facilities for hand washing (water and soap), the funeral will be monitored by delegates from the local government council and the funeral ceremony will not exceed 2hrs

Entry into the state is still on lockdown. If you are caught, you will be kept in isolation for 14days.

By Tuesday, the temporary lifting of the lockdown will be reviewed. If the abuse of protocols continue, government might be forced to bring back the TOTAL LOCKDOWN.
