How Unemployment will Crumble Nigeria’s Future – United Nations

The United Nations has warned that Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb due to the number of unemployed youths in the country.
A UN resident coordinator, Edward Kallon, who gave the warning at a retreat in Calabar, said the number of Nigeria’s unemployed youths threatens the stability and future of the country.

“The level of youth unemployment in Nigeria has made the country susceptible. Nigeria is sitting on a time bomb, he said. Kallon advised the government to release billions of dollars needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Daily Trust reports.

The official said the UN was ready to assist in brokering and supporting such partnerships that would help in achieving SDGs in Nigeria.
