ELECTION NEWS: Live Result, Updates, Situation Report in LAGOS

9:30 AM – In Lagos state, INEC has temporarily suspended the begin of voting at the polling unit of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The commission took the decision following malfunction of some card readers which has made it difficult for voters to get accredited.

The two main contenders in the election are Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and Jimi Agbaje of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Although the South-Western state is dominated by the APC, incumbent governor, Ambode Akinwumi lost the primaries to Sanwo-Olu, due to lack of support from the national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu.

However, The PDP may leverage on the internal division in the APC to up its game.
