ELECTION NEWS: Dino Melaye Emerge Senatorial Winner
Senator Dino Melaye has been re-elected to represent the people of Kogi West Senatorial District.
The District consists of Seven Local Government Areas namely Lokoja, Kogi/Koton Karfe, Kabba/Bunu
Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West.
Melaya floored his closest contender from the APC, Smart Adeyemi , with 85, 395 votes against 66, 902 votes, that is a margin of 18,493.

From the results you see above, Senator Melaye Swept six out of the Seven Local Government Areas he represents.
It may interest you to know that Melaye only defected from the ruling APC to the PDP last year, but no doubt the Senator still commands great influence the the area.
