ELECTION NEWS: ASUU Reacts to Buhari’s Victory

The Academic Staff Union of Universisties (ASUU) has reacted to the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as winner of the Presidential election which held on Sunday.

As the saying goes, Success attracts lots of friends, ASUU is no exception to this, the Academic body in a tweet on Wednesday congratulated the President and Praised Nigerians for chosen him to man the affairs of the nation till 2023.

The tweet read:

“The union congratulates Nigerians on their choice of a president.”

You may recall that the union had embarked on a 3 month strike in the build up to the Presidential election, but on February 8, the union called of the strike ahead of the polls earlier scheduled for February 16.

Buhari won the Presidential elections with a total of 15,191,847 votes, against 11,262,978 votes polled by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
