Outgoing governor of Imo state, Governor Rochas Okorocha, on Monday 1, April 2019, met with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors.
The APC governor from the south east arrived the presidential villa around 1:00pm and headed straight to the President’s Office, according to Daily Post.
As you may know, the governor contested for and won the senatorial bid for Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu zone).
However, after results where announced by INEC’s Returning Officer in the state, he reversed the announcement, stating that he only did so under duress.
This reversal caused INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, to withhold Okorocha’s certificate of return, even when other senators where offered theirs.
Also, you may also acknowledge that governor Okorocha is in a battle with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who have currently suspended him from the party.
The APC also stated that it cannot help Okorocha regain his certificate of return because he is currently suspended from the ruling party.
As at the time of filing this report, details of the meeting between the two politicians is yet to be disclosed.
What ever is the discussion, Rochas has already told Nigerians the roles INEC and Governors played in assisting Buhari rig the presidential election. This is already in the public domain.
